Stars Go Dim

Hey guys !

Everybody’s been struck down before . Granted what my “friend” did to me was a low blow, but what kind of person would i be if i didn’t know how to get up from a low blow? .

Anyway I’ve been shopping for college lately and i will tell you more about that, it’s just that this post isn’t about me at all; it’s about a band I’ve found on Myspace who is absolutely, genuinely unique , fresh, modern and classy.

At First what caught my …well, ears i guess, was their catchy guitar rifts and flowing lyrics but as i followed them trough i realized that they brought back something we’ve been missing for a while.

Something that didn’t require synthesizers or high pitched harmonies. Stars Go Dim is worth the glance and i’ll give you reasons why

  • the sound is new but still a perfect blend of modern / classic pop-soul I mean, come on, we haven’t had that in ages, good old poppy!
  • lead singer Chris Cleveland has the manly, fresh, soothing, crooning voice that women swoon for and guys pretend not to hear!
  • Joey Michael and are very friendly
  • you can easily relate to the lyrics of “Walk on”, “Crazy” or “Come around”
  • “Walk On” starts with a guitar piece that you just want to turn on real loud while driving
  • they post video clips of the band and journal entries so that you can be in the moment
  • the first three songs are currently available on iTunes and www. starsgodim. com
  • They interact with you…

Give me one good reason why I should stay here and listen to you

While your mouth runs wild, fire burns that I thought was true
Honestly can you blame me for how I feel
Falling for you every time
Your lips pout with no regrets
Yeah I’m sorry too, but sorry ain’t cutting it
I’ve given all my love, just to watch you waste away
There’s nothing left to say to you, I can’t take this anymore
I’ve given all I am, but know it’s time to let it go,
I’m moving on, there’s nothing left to say.”

Please Take a Stand for Darfur !

Sometimes you wake up and wish you could change the world…but you think: I’m one person I can’t possibly do it! Well I’m going to tell you: You Can.

Who here reading this has ever heard of Darfur? You’ve heard of Vietnam of Kosovo of Haiti even! But Darfur? I tell you I thought Haiti was bad but I found people who are seeing it worst than my country and it’s with all my heart and soul that I’m asking you to help, please. Darfur has humanitarian catastrophe of 200,000-400,000 or more dead and 2,500,000 refugees.

A friend of mine on MySpace http://www.myspace.com/jocelynplease is standing up for a reason, for something right she’s letting her voice be heard. And I am standing up with her and all my other fellow Alpha Kitties. Aristotle said that “Changes in all things is sweet” …how about YOU help the fate of a country? A country which you know their story, a country where they only ask for one thing: and that’s answering 3 questions and signing your name under it.

You’re reading this post , in front of your computer with a star bucks or a fruit all the while someone near Libya is putting praying never knowing when it’s the last time he’ll pray! Because they get raped, they get killed, they get abused, they suffer from famines and the United States wants a reason to help aside from the Big brother Policies or the fact they are part of the Big 4’s of the world.

The senate is not going to help unless we give them a reason to… I am sure you can do this…and I am begging you to do it.

Gandhi said: You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

The link will take you to a three minute survey that will be sent as a letter to the Senate.

Hopefully, you will help us get the attention we need…that Darfur needs.

10,000 letters, we barely have 2,000.

Obviously, we need help. Obviously we need YOUR help. They need your help

It‘ll make you feel good, it’ll make the people of Darfur feel good

If you can’t, have a soul and copy paste this code under anything you have for at least 5 days …that’s all I’m asking. It’s safe

Trust me. Save a life.

“I’m an Alpha Kitty

I’ll change the world one step at the time

Because I can and because I should! Because trying is better than not doing anything”

A reporter interviewing A.J. Muste, who during the Vietnam War stood in front of the White House night after night with a candle, one rainy night asked,”Mr. Muste, do you really think you are going to change the policies of this country by standing out here alone at night with a candle?” Muste replied, “Oh, I don’t do it to change the country, I do it so the country won’t change me.”

My trip (2)

April 11th 2007: we went out again, I bought accessories, shirt and shoes for my mother and a carven polo tee shirt for my father, then I helped my aunt shop for some tee shirts and we sat at a charming little cafe where we had a light lunch and I bought some shoes (yes I love shoes dears I know …how many times did I say the word shoes? ;-)  ) more and after 8 stores that all did not carry my size ( 7 )  I bought my shoes to go along with my dress …if I didn’t know how to walk in heels since i was 9 I would have fell the heel is incredibly thin. Then we went home.
April 12 2007th: I spent the day home; my aunt had a seminar she had to go to. I ate a frozen yogurt read 2 books (1984 by George Orwell which I recommend, and Gone with the wind…which I recommend while eating a frozen kiwi yogurt. then a bacon, light mayonaise, cheese, lettuce and tomato, grilled bread sandwich …then dinner which consisted of mashed potatoes and turkey) i then watched some TV and fell asleep for the day. When my aunt came home she apparently by this morning’s view of things ( turning off the TV and tucking me in then leaving a thank you note for the yogurt I left her *mango and pineapple* and that tomorrow she’d be back at 1)

April 13th 2007 : I woke up this morning….didn’t take breakfast yet  loll, my uncle is sitting next to me …he’s been on the phone since 6 am doing business calls already 2 cups of coffee and 1 cigarette its 10:42 I’m typing all of this to you and today I’m picking up my dress…I’ll add a picture. Then I’m getting  some  presents for my friends and then meeting a new friend for a movie or the mall or a cafe con freira …how’s that sound so far? I tanned I got fit I shopped I ate I’m laughing and smiling I’m making friends I got my hair done designed my dress…sleep….read…munch on yogurt and listen to jazz every morning … here comes my breakfast; toast with butter and peach marmalade.
LUV!!!
